Miniatures Contest 2016


This contest will have a two-part judging process. For the first round we ask that you send us photographs of your miniature creations via our online submission form no later than April 1, 2016. If you prefer to mail your entry form and photographs, please send us your entries postmarked no later than April 1, 2016. Photographs sent after April 1, 2016, will not be judged. Mailed photographs will not be returned unless a self-addressed, stamped envelope is included.

 

Photo entries will be judged by the editors of PieceWork magazine. Finalists will be picked for the second round of judging and notified on or before April 15, 2016. If you are accepted as a finalist, send your needlework creation as well as the finalist entry form and $10 entry fee no later than May 15, 2016. Finalists will be judged by the editors of PieceWork magazine. Winning pieces will be pictured in the September/October 2016 issue of PieceWork and may travel to one or more museums for exhibitions.

 

Judging criteria will include originality of the piece and mastery of the chosen technique. See Official Contest Rules for details.

 

*Contest entries must incorporate at least one of the following techniques: needlework (embroidery, needlepoint, and/or cross-stitch), knitting/crochet, lacemaking/tatting, quilting, or beading.

 

*Contest entries must be handmade original designs and be no larger than 6” x 6” x 6”, anything larger than this will not be judged.

 

*Only photographs will be accepted for the first round of judging. If selected as a finalist, the finished piece must be sent to be considered in the final round of judging. Finished pieces will be returned by December 31, 2016.

 

*No entry fee is required for the first round of judging. Finalist must include a $10 entry fee with the completed piece. Please make checks payable to PieceWork magazine. Limit of 3 entries per person. Each entry must have its own entry form completed, along with $10 entry fee per entry IF selected as a finalist.
